HOBBLIT-Inkalchemy
The Non-Resident Students Centre (NRSC) at Aligarh Muslim University hosted a two-day calligraphy workshop titled "HOBBLIT-Inkalchemy: Basics of Calligraphy." on 21st August 2024 & 22nd August 2024. The workshop was held under the guidance of Prof. Brij Bhushan Singh (Provost) and Dr. Ammar Ibne Anwar (Club President) and coordinated by Dr. Mohd Mushfiq (Hobbies Secretary) and Dr. Abdullah Faizul Hasan (Literary Secretary).
The inaugural function was, attended by guests including Prof. M. Mohsin Khan, Finance Officer, AMU, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Badar Jahan from the Department of Fine Arts and Prof. Badrudduja Khan, Principal of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College and Chairperson of the Department of Moalejat, as Guests of Honour.
Prof. Badar Jahan, an expert in arts, elaborated on various types of calligraphy, with a special focus on Islamic calligraphy. Prof. Badrudduja Khan shared fascinating history of the calligraphy on the Taj Mahal and the gate of the AMU Jama Masjid, both written by the same calligraphist. Prof. M. Mohsin Khan shared thoughts on the impact of beautiful handwriting on academic success. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Ammar Ibne Anwar.
The workshop featured live demonstrations and lectures. Mr. Sajid Ali Khan, a retired Section Officer from the Department of Fikr-un-Nazar, demonstrated the Urdu Nastaleeq script. Mr. Mohammed Aiyyoob Khan from the K.A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, AMU, and Mrs. Sualiha Khalil from Al Barakat College, Aligarh, delivered lectures on the use of graphics in calligraphy.
The event was coordinated by the NRSC staff, particularly Mr. Amber Zaidi and Mr. Abdul Wasiq, Section Officer.

5. Republic Day celebration -2013
Various activities for different group of students were organized viz. Painting competition, Debate, Essay Writing etc
6. Thai Sports & Cultural Event -- on 26 & 27 January 2013.
7. In memory of Prof. AMK Shahryar, the Poet and Lyricist (the prestigious Gyanpeeth Award winner), NRSC organized a programme named 'Yaad-e-Shahryar' on 13/02/2013. The programme included symposium on Life and works of Shahryar along with 'Mushaira'. Many prominent poets attended the programme . Young talents were invited and encouraged to present their work.
8. Annual Cultural & Sports week -- from 04/03/2013 to 10/03/2013.
Sports events and Literary & Cultural events marked this occasion. The winners of the events were presented with trophies/mementoes.
The Chief Guest on this occasion was Hon. Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah.
