GENERAL PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (GPO)

The Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) has following General Outcomes. After completing this Programme the student-teachers will be able to-

  1. Acquire specialization in subject specific arena along with professional skills of teaching.

  2. Develop competencies and skills to apply the knowledge provided by different disciplines to classroom Teaching and Learning Process

  3. Transact the school curriculum by applying various pedagogical approaches

  4. Excel in Pedagogical Competency and Learning Mechanism

  5. Explore and utilize different human values inherent in the concepts, content and practices

  6. Contextualize the curriculum in socio-economic and political perspectives

  7. Develop critical thinking, reasoning, creativity and problem solving and experimentation skills

  8. Apply in Educational Practices Values as enshrined in Indian Constitutions and Indian Traditions

After successfully completing the Four-year integrated B.Sc. B.Ed. Programme as per guidelines and implementation, the student-teachers will enable to:

  1. Discover human and social values inherent in scientific content domains

  2. Contextualize Scientific and Mathematical realities to the classroom discussion

  3. Acquire dexterity in handling laboratory devices and processes effectively and efficiently

  4. Develop and use low-cost/no-cost materials to demonstrate concepts in Science or Mathematics

  5. Become effective teachers of Science and Mathematics by imbibing professional and ethical values.

  6. Acquire competencies and skills needed for Science and Mathematics teacher.

  7. Inculcate rational thinking, broadmindedness, creativity, cooperative learning and problem-solving skills and scientific temper among the Teacher students.

  8. Develop critical awareness about the social realities among the students.

Every year demand for school teachers is increasing due to the increased span and arena of the Education sector and modern infrastructural facilities every year. Demand for Indian teachers is also growing in schools situating abroad particularly in Gulf countries. Online teaching, LMS, and Social Media platforms have opened new avenues in the Education sector with abundant opportunities for school teachers.

B.Ed.: PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES(PSOs)

  • PSO1: To make the student teachers understand how children learn and develop, how they differ in their approaches to learning, and create learning opportunities that benefit diverse children and their learning contexts.

  • PSO2: To familiarize with the key governmental schemes and understand the contemporary issues and policies at various levels of education like gender challenges, gender equity, etc.

  • PSO3: To acquaint the student teachers with the philosophical framework emphasizing western and Indian schools of philosophy.

  • PSO4: To foster skills among student teachers to plan learning experiences in and outside the classroom that are based on student teachers’ existing proficiency, interests, experiences, and knowledge, and enable them to understand how children come to view, develop, learn and make sense of subject matter contained in the curriculum. 

  • PSO5: To enhance the capacity among student teachers to use knowledge of effective verbal, non-verbal, and ICT to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom.

  • PSO6: To enable the student teachers to understand and use formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous intellectual social, emotional and physical development of children and provide them guidance and counseling.

  • PSO7: To provide self-identity as a “teacher” through school-based learning experiences and reflective practices that continually evaluate the effects of student teachers’ choices and actions.

  • PSO8: To provide a rich programme of curricular and extra-curricular activities for the all-around development of student teachers and to equip them with knowledge of the personality development of children.

        The following are the programme outcomes of the aforementioned programme:

  • PO1: To implement lifelong learning among learners through self-paced and self-directed learning aimed at personal development and adapting to changing demands of society.

  • PO2: To provide the essential knowledge of the psychology of the learner, their diverse needs,
    human behaviour, developmental aspects of a learner with reference to their socio-economic and cultural context.

  • PO3: To equip learners with the knowledge of curriculum construction, evaluation techniques, administration and supervision.

  • PO4: To inspire learners to be sensitive to the current problems and perspectives of education in order to mobilize them to find creative solutions.

  • PO5: To accentuate the proficiency required to be effective learners by synchronizing theory and practices. For example Educational technology, computer education, communication skills etc.

  • PO6: To acquaint the knowledge of curricular objectives with emphasis on foundations and evaluation of curriculum in the light of emerging issues and needs of the present scenario.
