B.E. Mechanical Engineering student selected to receive $5000 Scholarship from ASHRAE, USA


Mr. Sahib Zubair. BE Mechanical Engg. III year, a student member of ASHRAE-AMU student chapter, has been selected to receive the Society’s Hoffman Family Scholarship from ASHRAE, USA for the 2023-2024 academic year. The one-year $5,000 scholarship is awarded for his outstanding scholastic and leadership abilities, character, potential service to the HVAC&R profession and financial need. It is designed to assist in his educational pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is to be used exclusively for his tuition and related fees required for enrollment, including books, supplies and equipment at Aligarh Muslim University.

A felicitation ceremony to honour the teachers was held in the conference room of the department on 30th March 2022 at 1 PM. The Dean Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Pervez Mustajab and The Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Mohammad Muzammil congratulated and presented a certificate of appreciation to several senior as well as young teachers for their significant contribution to the department during the 2020-21 academic year. The session was moderated by Mr Nafees Ahmad, Head of the Thermal Section at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The senior teachers who were honoured included Prof. Mohammad Altamush Siddiqui, Prof. Syed Fahad Anwer and  Prof. Faisal Talib, and among the young teachers were Dr Shahid Husain, Dr Mohammad Asif, Dr Md. Reyaz Arif, Dr Muhammed Muaz and Dr. Mohd. Furquan.
