I did my Ph.D. on the geochemistry of volcanic rocks of basal Aravalli volcanics, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Subsequently I undertook geochemical studies on the mafic rocks of Phulad ophiolite suite in academic collaboration with Prof. T. E. Smith, Windsor University, Canada and Dr. J. Huang, University of Salisbury, Canada as part of my Research Associateship, UGC, New Delhi. I have been continuously engaged in unraveling geological riddles of Aravalli craton. In consonance to this approach, now days I am concentrating on the geochemical studies of the Mesoproterozoic - Neoproterozoic lithounits of Aravalli craton. Till date I have completed three major research projects sanctioned by CST, UP,UGC, New Delhi and AYUSH, MHFW, Gov. India. Till date 05 research students have been registered under my supervision. Two have submitted their thesis. Three have joined ONGC/GSI. I teach crystallography, optical mineralogy, instrumentation and analytical techniques and igneous petrology. I have 24 research papers to my credit published in peer reviewed international and national journals. Important journals wherein my papers are published include Gondwana Research, Island Arc, Geochemical Journal, Asian Journal of Earth Sciences, International Geological Review, Chinese Journal of Geochemistry and Geological Society of India.
