Dr. Mohd. Shaif is a young researcher in the field of Economic Geology and Ore Geochemistry. He is particularly interested in, distribution, occurrence and evaluation of metalliferous ore deposits of India including, mineralogical and geochemical studies to delineate their genetic aspects and economic potentialities. Dr. Shaif did his master’s as M.Tech. (Applied Geology) from Dr. H. S. Gaur Central University, Sagar, M.P. (India) in 2012. He did his dissertation at Uranium Corporation of India Limited, Narwapahar, Jharkhand and Atomic Mineral Division, Jamshedpur. Dr. Shaif honored with Ph.D. degree from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2018. The topic of his Ph.D. is “Geochemical studies of manganese ores of Banswara manganese belt, Banswara district, Rajasthan, which includes mineralogy and major, trace and RE elements studies of the manganese ores and their associated host rocks with special emphasis on mineralogical diversity and geochemical studies to delineate their genetic environment in relation of global manganese ore genesis. Dr. Shaif is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh since 2018. Dr. Shaif has published his research findings in reputed journals including Geological Society of India (Springer), Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (Springer), Journal of Geology, Ecology and Landscape (Taylor & Francis), etc. He has visited a number of institutions like, SAIF, I.I.T., Bombay, National Centre of Polar and Antarctic Research (M.O.E.S.), Goa, National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad, Department of Geological Sciences, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and several headquarters of Geological Survey of India, for training cum Research work. He has supervised one Postgraduate and four Undergraduate project oriented dissertations. Dr. Shaif is also active in academic and administrative works assigned by the university.
