Dr. Tariq Siddique conferred with the degree of B.Sc. (Geology Hons.) in 2012, M.Sc. (Applied Geology) in 2014 from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Dr. Siddique earned "University Gold Medal" and "Dr. H.S. Pareek Medal" for outstanding performance and securing the first position in post-graduation at Aligarh Muslim University. Dr. Siddique honored with Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee. The topic of his Ph.D. is "Slope stability investigations of road cut slopes: NH-58, Rishikesh to Devprayag". Dr. Siddique is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh since 2015. The research interests of Dr. Siddique include slope stability and geotechnical engineering. He is particularly interested in slope stability appraisal along transportation corridors in different sections of the Himalayas. His research is mainly focused on rock mass characterization, kinematic analysis and numerical simulation by Generalized Hoek-Brown Criterion and Mohr-Coulomb Criterion. Dr. Siddique also worked on Rockfalls, Landslide hazard zonation, and stability assessment of debris and rock-cum-debris slopes. Dr. Siddique along with his co-authors published new guidelines for Q-Slope method in Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, Springer. Dr. Siddique has published 16 research articles in peer-reviewed International and National Journals of repute and 2 chapters in the book Landslides: Theory, Practice and Modelling, Advances in Natural and Technological Hazards Research, Springer. He is also having several publications in conference/seminar/workshop proceedings. Dr. Siddique is a regular reviewer of many journals of repute (Journal of Mountain Science, Springer; Geomatics, Natural Hazards and Risk, Taylor and Francis; Geotechnical and Geological Engineering, Springer; SN Applied Sciences, Springer; Advances in Civil Engineering, Hindawi; Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Hindawi; Structural Durability and Health Monitoring, Tech Science Press). Dr. Siddique is a life member of the Indian Geotechnical Society, Delhi Chapter, India. Dr. Siddique teaches Engineering Geology, Geophysical Exploration, Global Climate Change, Engineering Geology & Geotechniques and Oceanography at postgraduate level and Geological Field Techniques, Marine Geology, Disaster Management, Fundamentals of Geology, Earth Processes & Resources at Undergraduate level. He is also involved in laboratory classes of Engineering Geology, Igneous Petrology, Sedimentary Petrology, Metamorphic Petrology, Ore Microscopy, Economic Geology, Palaeontology, Stratigraphy, Mineralogy, Earth System & Mineral Science. He has supervised 6 postgraduate dissertation oriented projects. Dr. Siddique is also active in several academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the university authorities time to time.
