Dr Mohd Abid Siddiqui hails from village Tajpur, District Bijnor (UP). After completing M.Sc. (Botany) degree from Hindu College, Moradabad, Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, (U.P) he joined Aligarh Muslim University for further education and received B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. (Education) degrees from Department of Education. During research he qualified JRF examination and received scholarship from UGC. He started his career as Assistant Professor in Department of B.Ed, Ganjdundwara P.G. College, Ganjdundwara (Kasganj), of Dr B.R Ambedkar University, Agra after getting selected through U.P. Higher Education Services Commission in 1999. He was appointed as Assistant Professor in Department of Education A.M.U., Aligarh in 2009 and later on got his selection as Associate Professor through general selection committee in March, 2015. Presently Dr Siddiqui is working as Professor of Education in Department of Education, AMU, Aligarh since 2018.
He has three published books to his credit namely ‘Secondary School Drop-outs’, ‘Essentials of Guidance & Counselling’ and ‘Issues and Challenges of Secondary Education’. Dr Siddiqui also contributed many chapters in edited books and more than thirty five research papers in journals of national and international reputes besides presenting several papers in national and international seminars and conferences.
He has successfully supervised seven Ph..D. theses and five research scholars one PDF are working under his supervision. He has also guided about 25 M.ED dissertations. His interest areas are guidance and counselling, inclusive education, educational psychology and research methodology. He regularly delivers lectures in orientation and refresher courses organised for Madars, school, college and university teachers as resource person. In addition to it he has discharged his administrative responsibilities successfully as President of Gymkhana Club, University Games Committee, Placement cum Counselling officer, Disability unit, Admission Coordinator of B.Ed., MA. & DT courses, Assistant Superintendent of Examination and other academic responsibilities. He has the passion of guiding and counselling the students of all classes by engaging them in lively interaction and assisting in resolving their academic and personal issues.
