Dr. Sidra Khanam received her B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from ZHCET, Aligarh Muslim University in 2009 and was awarded Gold Medal for being the topper of the Graduate course, and thereafter Ph.D. degree in ‘Condition Monitoring of Bearings’ from IIT Delhi in 2016. She served as an Assistant professor (Sel Grade) at the Northcap University, Gurugram July 2015-2016, then joined the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, AMU in July 2016, and is currently working as an Assistant Professor.
She has authored several publications some of which are in Journals of repute like Transactions of ASME, Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, Journal of Tribology, Journal of Vibration and Control, and Journal of Sound and Vibration. She has also presented her work in VIRM held at IMechE London in 2012 and IFToMM at Milan in 2014.
She has been conferred with Young Woman Award in Mechanical Engineering from Venus International Foundation in the year 2018, International Young Researcher Award from CPACE in the year 2021, the Teaching Excellence Award from IMRF in the year 2022, and Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Best Faculty and Researcher Award 2022 on National Teacher's Day from IMRF.
She is a Life Member of the Condition Monitoring Society of India (CMSI), Life Member of the Acoustical Society of India (ASI), Associate Member of The Institution of Engineers (India), Member of the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), and Executive Committee Member of CMSI. She has also served as a reviewer for Journals like Measurement, Journal of Sound and Vibration, Journal of Vibration and Control, and Advanced Engineering Informatics.
Her research interests are in the areas of condition monitoring, mechanical systems signal processing, and bearing fault diagnosis.- Theoretical and experimental analyses of vibration impulses and their influence on accurate diagnosis of ball bearing with localized outer race defect
