FUNCTIONS  OF  ACCOUNTS SECTION, FINANCE & ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT 
 
  •  To prepare the Annual Accounts of the Aligarh Muslim University.
  • Accounts Section scrutinizes/places the supply orders and bills of suppliers/firms/daily wagers received from various departments of this University recommended by the Chairman/Head of the Department concerned out of the head Revolving Funds.
  • Accounts Section scrutinizes/places the supply orders and bills of suppliers/firms/daily wagers received from various departments of this University recommended by the Chairman/Head of the Department concerned out of the Head Development Charges of the University.
  • Filling of Quarterly Income Tax Return (Other than Salary) and issuing Form-16A to the Deductors.
  • The head of Accounts "Students' Benevolent Fund, Students' Welfare Fund and Vice-Chancellor's Fund" are also dealt in Accounts Section.
  • The Section also makes the payments of Scholarships/Gold Medals based on donations given by the donors.
  • The Cheque writing cell of "Deposit Account & Students' Welfare Fund Account" is also under control of Accounts Section.
  • Bank Reconciliation work is also performed by the section.
  • The Section also maintains the donors' list of the University.

SOP

            Accounts Section prepares Financial Statement consisting Balance Sheet, Income Expenditure Account and Receipt & Payment Account of the University. The Financial Statement is placed before the Finance Committee for consideration and the Executive Council of the University for Approval. After receiving the Separate Audit Report (SAR) from the office of C&AG of India the Financial Statement alongwith Separate Audit Report duly approved by the competent authority is sent to the Ministry of Education for being placed before both the Houses of Parliament.
