Guidelines to Authors
The Indian Journal of Politics is a
peer-reviewed quarterly publication of the Department of Political Science,
Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India, dedicated to serving as a forum for
rigorous scholarly analysis, critical commentaries, and papers on recent
developments pertaining to all fields of Political Science, including
International Relations, Public Administration and Human Rights. The Journal
also welcomes review articles (both literature-based and thematic) in these
disciplines. Please contact the Editor in advance of submitting a review
article. Book reviews are also welcome. There is no standard length for
research articles, but the preferred length is between 10000 to 8000 words.
Shorter research notes/articles are also welcome. The shorter articles and
research notes should be between 3000 to 5000 words. The length of book reviews
should be between 2000 to 3000 words. Each article should be accompanied by
an abstract of nearly 150 words, along with five to six key words appearing in
the article. The article should indicate author’s institutional affiliation,
designation and email ID on the first of the article. All Articles should be prepared in
accordance with the Chicago Style Manual. Articles prepared in Harvard Style
(author-date system) with bibliographical references are unacceptable. All
notes should be at the end of the Article. Consult the Style Sheet for Chicago
Manual for The Indian Journals of Politics, which is available on the website

the website of the Department of Political Science, https://www.amu.ac.in/shownotice.jps?did=83. In matter of spelling, definition and
hyphenation we follow Queen’s English and The Oxford English Dictionary. A declaration certificate must be
furnished by author at the time of submission of the manuscript for publication
saying that the Manuscript submitted for publication is not under consideration
elsewhere, and it is not published already in part or whole in any journal,
magazine, book or any other medium. Decisions on publication of
manuscripts are made by the Editors after receiving positive comments by Blind
Reviewers. Manuscripts should be submitted
