Dr. Meraj Ahmed is an accomplished gastro surgeon with a specialised focus in minimally invasive and complex gastrointestinal surgeries. He did his MBBS (2012) and MS (General Surgery-2017) from JNMCH, AMU, Aligarh. He further received super-speciality training and awarded MCh degree in GI Surgery (2023) from GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi – a pioneer institute in the field of gastro-surgery. He is currently working as assistant professor in the department of surgery, JNMCH, AMU, Aligarh. Known for a compassionate approach and meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Meraj Ahmed works closely with patients to develop personalised treatment plans, prioritising minimally invasive techniques to reduce recovery time and improve outcomes. The focus of his work is GI cancer surgeries/GI onco-surgeries, Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgeries, Colo-rectal surgeries and advanced laparoscopic surgeries. He has authored chapters in many books and has published various research articles in national and international indexed journals. At AMU he is also involved in teaching and training of medical graduates and post-graduates along with clinical research on advanced surgical methods and innovations in digestive health.
