Teaching since 1993: First I joined the Centre for Strategic Studies, AMU in 1993 as Lecturer and worked there till 1998. Afterwards, I am working with the Department of Political Science Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Before joining the centre as Lecturer I also served as Research Fellow from December 1998 to December 1991 on a Research Project on Indian Ocean sanctioned by the Department of Ocean Development, Government of India. I also worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi for a period of two years from October 2002 to November 2004 on a research project: Terrorism in India: The Role of Religion and Politics. Presently I am professor at the Department.
